"I write because I don't know what I think until I read what I write." ~Flannery O'Connor
Classic Reel Girl grew out of my love for classic cinema of the '30s, '40s, '50s, and '60s, dance, social psychology, literary analysis, and creative writing. (The latter three were integral parts of my post-secondary and post-baccalaureate education).
I set out to analyze messages in movies. After two years of blogging, I discovered most posts circled back to the dance floor. While I am not ready to completely give up general discussion of films (pre-code and World War II flicks are particular favorites), I have created a little spot in Classic Reel Girl, The Silver Slipper, devoted to celebrating dance in film.
Please feel free to leave a comment on the posts. I would love to hear from you.
Cheers!
Bonnie
